An event to showcase the finest food and drink producers in the North of England, from primary produce, fresh from the Field, through to the most sumptuous of patisserie .... ![]() VisitorsA wonderful opportunity to sample and buy some of the finest produce from the region, all under one, very beautiful, roof! The Corn Exchange is one of Leeds' most spectacular buildings, Cornucopia brings together a delicious selection of goods for a two day event that we would like to run on a seasonal basis, celebrating the diversity of our changing landscape, bringing you the finest of fresh produce at just the right time. If you came to 'Good Food Friday', or enjoyed Leeds Loves Food, if you support independent retailers or care about food miles, if you'd like to inject a little excitement in to your food shopping and discover some great new recipe ideas too, then this is a 'must do' event. Entry is, of course, free of charge and there is plenty of parking, along with superb public transport links, all close by. Past Event ReviewsCornucopia - October was a triumph of local produce, generating lots of tweets, likes and blogs, not only did stallholders report great sales on the day, many met buyers from the retail sector and forged new relationships. December was a Christmassy affair, whilst February featured seasonal Rhubarb and lots of Valentine themed produce. They found the best of the best… Fish& reinventing the chippy with flavours like lemon, lime & chilli batter sustainable fish& chips from their beach hut in Leeds, Lulabelles the award winning pink campervan serving Yorkshire tea and sumptuous homemade seasonal cakes, Moorish Feast with the most amazing Moroccan cuisine… Just a tiny taste of what Northern StrEats can offer ... An Evening with Brian TurnerHosted by Piazza by Anthony's a gorgeous four course, locally sourced, menu created by Brian and prepared by the award winning chefs at Anthony's. Proceeds in aid of Cancer Research UK, at just £50.00 per person this is an excellent opportunity to meet the man himself and enjoy a pleasant evening in such a beautiful setting. For tickets visit the eventbrite site Yorkshire man Brian Turner is one of Britain's most successful and well-known chefs. His early mentor was the food writer and broadcaster the late Michael Smith. Brian Turner has trained at some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in Europe. In 2005 Brian was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Yorkshire Society. Recognition continued in 2006 with the British Hospitality Association Award for the training and development of young people as well as an Honorary Doctorate of Science conferred by Leeds Metropolitan University Brian regularly appears on TV in Daily Cooks Challenge, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and 'Ready Steady Cook', he has made numerous appearances on the 'Food and Drink' programme and has also been a judge on 'Master Chef'. He featured, as resident chef for many years on Granada's 'This Morning' eventually moving to the BBC for his own series 'Anything you can Cook' |
